Ophthalmic Lasers

NIDEK offers a variety of laser instruments from YAG/SLT lasers to Multicolor laser photocoagulators including single color Green or Yellow lasers. These options allow delivery any laser therapy. The multiple choices of delivery systems allow efficient tailored treatment sequence throughout the surgical day.

Multicolor Scan Laser Photocoagulator MC-500Vixi

  • Multicolor on modular architecture
    • The MC-500 Vixi / MC-500 allows the selection of one, two, or three wavelengths among green, yellow, and red.

  • Auto forward*
    • Once photocoagulation is completed in one region, the MC-500 Vixi allows automated positioning of the scan pattern to the next region to undergo photocoagulation. This feature allows the surgeon to concentrate on focus adjustment.
      • (The repeat mode with the auto forward function enables consecutive regions to undergo photocoagulation on a selected path without repeatedly pressing the foot switch.
      • *The auto forward function is available for the equal space (2v2, 3v3, 4v4) and the square (2×2, 3×3, 4×4) patterns.

  • LPM (Low Power Mode) for minimally invasive photocoagulation – LPM (Low Power Mode) is a form of laser treatment that delivers reduced power to the retina. In LPM, the standard (yellow) laser treatment power is reduced by a specified ratio. To use the optional LPM, the MC-500 Vixi has to be equipped with the yellow laser. An additional software upgrade is required.
    • Arcade grid scan pattern – in addition to regular mode, LPM includes a scan pattern that prevents treatment in a central circular area within the grid.
    • Auto forward function – Auto forward function allows automated positioning of the scan pattern for photocoagulation.
  • Practical and user-friendly features – intuitive graphic user interface and easy-to-read color LCD touch screen allows easy and quick setup and confirmation of the scan pattern and treatment parameters.

Yellow Laser Photocoagulator YLC-500

  • Attributes of the 577 nm yellow laser – the 577 nm yellow laser is minimally absorbed by xanthophyll and is well absorbed by oxygenated hemoglobin compared to 532 nm laser making it the wavelength of choice for lesions close to the macula. A momentary increase followed by a plateau and an immediate decrease enables rapid and high-power laser emission for the scan patterns.
  • Multiple scan patterns (available for YLC-500 Vixi) – the YLC-500 Vixi has 22 preprogrammed scan patterns to allow treatment of varying retinal pathologies.

  • Stable and reliable green laser – the GYC-500 Vixi / GYC-500 ensures stable laser output by using a solid state laser. Two cooling fans in the console maintain the correct internal temperature.
  • Multiple scan patterns (only for GYC-500 Vixi) – incorporating Vixi, scan delivery units, into the GYC-500 enables laser treatments with various scan patterns. Ophthalmic YAG Laser System YC-200S

  • Refined laser delivery with lower energy – the YC-200 S plus / YC-200 achieves 1.6 mJ plasma threshold in air*1, delivering accurate and robust treatments with lower energy.
    • *1 A plasma threshold of 1.6 mJ is achieved in ordinary room conditions (in-house data).
  • SLT mode – the YC-200 S plus offers an advanced SLT mode. SLT is highly effective for treating open angle glaucoma.
  • SLT-NAVI – the SLT-NAVI feature presents an intuitive display on the progress of laser treatment, providing the surgeon with important feedback.
  • Clear and sharp field of view – an improved optical design that optimizes resolution and contrast, and an expanded focal depth provide a clear view of pathology and treatment. A unique illumination system with an LED light source results in a bright, near-natural view that minimizes aberration. The sharp, clear optics provide an enhanced view of the treatment area.
  • Precise aiming beam:
    • Motorized rotatable aiming beam (YAG mode) – the dual aiming beam offers superior targeting with a 360° rotating aiming beam that can avoid corneal opacities and achieve more accurate focusing.
    • Precise edge aiming beam (SLT mode*) – parfocality delivers a clear view for easier focusing of the aiming beam through the contact lens. (*Available for the YC-200 S plus)
  • Optimized operating distance – maximized working distance allows easier manipulation of the contact lens, and the short operating distance decreases surgeon fatigue during treatment. (*Operating distance denotes the distance from the microscope eyepiece to the patient’s eye.)
  • Unique joystick
